Newly Launched Honor 100, Should You Buy It?
The Honor 100 is a new phone from Honor that was just released on March 25, 2 there are actually two versions: the Honor 100 and the Honor 100 Pro.
At a glance I found few things about this phone while using multiple apps, documents, and calls throughout the day, I’ve been testing out the new Honor 100. Here’s my take on whether it hits the mark.
The Good Stuff:
- Display: The big, beautiful 6.78-inch AMOLED display is a dream. It’s perfect for catching up on emails, watching videos, or gaming thanks to the sharp resolution and smooth 120Hz refresh rate.
- Battery Life: The 5000mAh battery is a beast. I can easily get through a full day of heavy use without needing to scramble for a charger. Plus, the 100W fast charging brings it back to life in a flash.
- Performance: The Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor in the standard model holds its own. Multitasking is a breeze, and even some light gaming runs smoothly. For even more demanding users, the Pro version with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is a better option.
- RAM: The Honor 100 comes in 12GB and 16GB RAM options, while the Pro is only available in 12GB
- Camera: Both phones have a triple rear camera system with a 50MP main sensor. The Pro model has an additional 50x telephoto lens for zoomed-in shots. The front facing camera is also 50MP on both models.
The Not-So-Good Stuff:
- Software: The phone runs on MagicOS 7.0 on top of Android 14. While it’s functional, some users might miss having Google apps pre-installed, especially outside of China. There are workarounds, but it’s an extra step.
- Design: It’s a sleek phone, but the curved display can be a bit prone to accidental touches. The under-display fingerprint sensor is also a bit hit-or-miss with responsiveness.
- Price: The price point depends on your region and chosen configuration, but it sits firmly in the mid-range. While competitive, there might be better deals out there depending on your priorities.

The Verdict:
The Honor 100 is a solid mid-range phone with a lot to offer, especially for users who prioritize battery life and a gorgeous display. The camera system is decent, and the base model with 12GB of RAM gives you plenty of room for multitasking. However, the lack of pre-installed Google apps and the occasional software hiccups might be dealbreakers for some.
If you’re a casual user or someone looking for a great phone for everyday tasks, the Honor 100 is a strong contender. But for power users who crave the absolute best performance and camera tech, it might be worth looking elsewhere.
